What a massive game for the Reds Friday night as we take on run away league leaders Perth Glory a team I believe can go all the way this season. If Adelaide have any say in finals football this season or any chance of GLORY this year, then a win against Perth will certainly make a huge statement to not only Reds fans but also the rest of the league. A win is also vital at home Friday night if the Reds are to leap frog Wellington and get into that vital 4th spot putting pressure back on the KIWIS to get the 3points in their next fixture.

So can the REDS beat the Glory, that is the question, recent form has not been good for our boys with a win as rare as Melbourne City getting over 7k for a home game. While on the other hand Perth cant stop winning besides last weeks slip up, Glory really have been the bees knees this campaign.

I am quite worried about this game for the REDS with a already depleted defence against probably the best attack in the competition. One feels Adelaide United will be under the pump for the majority of the 90mins Friday night. The thought of Andy Keogh , Chris Ikonomidis and Diego Castro in that front third for Glory does say to me goals while our key Centre half Jordan Elsey watches from the stands.

The reds will really need to be switched on for the night and hope that new striker Jordy Thomassen finds the back of the onion bag through the usual good service from Craig Goodwin out wide. Captain Isaias and Boland in the heart of our midfield will need to dominate and get a grip on a very fast mobile Glory side. Our wide defenders Strain and Galloway will also need to bomb forward at every opportunity being of course mindful of very speedy counter attacks from Popovic’s men, something which undone the REDS last time the teams met at Hindmarsh in that 2 zip defeat, two very quick counter attacking goals that day was enough to sink Adelaide fans hearts.

Keep the faith though reds fans and pack out Hindmarsh Friday night. The lads need you there in big numbers making the ground a fortress and sea of Red. Lets hope we will be singing Glory Glory Adelaide United come games end and looking pretty in 4th spot!
